Saving the worst for last! I despise this painting. I've never shown it to anyone, ever, until now. Obviously for good reason. I worked this thing over several
times and came up a loser on all counts. I hadn't given much thought to composition either, as the flattening of the head to fit the canvas would indicate. I swear, I really don't look (much) like this!

11/01 Hi there Kris, i find your work really interesting, even though you may not think it, i found: Self Portrait as
an Ugly Dude the most moving, the fact that you dispise it is basically the way i think of all my work..
... I work in in acrylic too (well most of the time as you'll see) the colours, tones, brushwork on
ugly dude was the most (dare i say) spiritual experience for me... and all my drinking friends. it's just the frenetic way you've , worked, and worked on it... there's real feeling there, almost godlike
persistance... mirroring the struggling artists long since past...
(you should never sell a work like this)
