I have dozens of these. My painting technique often involves something like the surrealists' convention of "psychic automatism", which involved placing random images and marks on
a surface and free associating images as they appear. Sometimes nothing comes of it and all I get is a mess. This one looks to me like a toilet at a service station. You have to admit, though, it kind
of looks good with this pea soup background color! |

"I think that the pile in the foreground (Pile of Doo Doo 1998) could be you
brain melting in a pile surrounded by nothingness. Just some random open field. Perhaps you were going through a tough time and that's what your
brain felt like at the time. Which I can understand, I've had a girlfriend so I know what you must've felt like.
By the way I found your site by looking for a plexiglass dispay holder, in
case you were wondering. I think that the disaster a cool anyway, from "cstien" 8/00 |

Im not a hundred percent sure exactly what it is, but all the same i like it. Visually the color scheme is great, pastels in the foreground,
with darker, more bland images in the backround. To me it symbolizes the false faces that people put on themselves, the pastels representing how we show ourselves to the outside world. As for the darker, bland colors
represent our shortcomings and true feelings of inferiority. How we feel inside. All the same the beauty of art is just that, the fact that anyone can take anything they want from a piece. But all-in-all, I commend you
on this piece and urge you not to trash it. Dez Nutz, 12/02 |
